2017 Fall Team Scrimmage Camp

Information to Register:

  • Each Date (Sept. 9th or 16th) will allow 3 teams, of up to, 15 players each.
  • Each Team member must fill out a camp flyer and bring a copy of a current physical to camp.
  • Each coach will need to submit a team roster at check in with full names, phone number, address, e-mail address, grad year, high school, and age.
  • Payment can be made with check at team check in, but must contact Garrett Valis
     first to confirm that a spot is available via e-mail gvalis@shsu.edu or office cell 936-294-1745.
  • Credit card payments can be arranged if contacting Garrett Valis
     after confirmation into the camp.

Location
Bearkat Softball Hitting Facility, 620 Bowers Blvd., Huntsville TX 77341

Equipment

  • Bring copy of physical or filled out camp form
  • Bring, water, bat, helmet, and tennis shoes
  • Bring tennis shoes incase we use our indoor facility

Parking
Available in lower lot below the softball field off of BearKat Blvd. Walk up stairs to the hitting facility just past the softball field entrance

Medical Examinations
All Participants must have medical-physical form on file with us to participate. A completed copy of the past year’s high school or junior high physical form is acceptable. The examination should be performed prior to the arrival at camp.

Camp Structure
7:45 a.m. Team check in
8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. – Teams warm up on the field
8:30 – 10:00 a.m. – Three, 30-minute rotations: Get in 3 position groups (P/C, Infield, Outfield)
Hitting: Cage
Defense: SB Field
Base running: SB outfield or infield
10:00 – 11:30 a.m. – Scrimmage # 1: Team A vs. Team B (Team C break or cage work)
11:30 – 11:45 a.m. – BREAK – field prep
11:45 – 1:15 p.m. – Scrimmage # 2: Team A vs. Team C (Team B break or cage work)
1:15 - 1:30 p.m. – BREAK – field prep
1:30 – 3:00 p.m.  – Scrimmage # 3: Team B vs. Team C (Team A break or cage work)
3:00 – 3:30 p.m. – Ten-minute offense competition (all 3 teams participate)
3:30 – 3:45 p.m. – Question and Answer with camp staff
3:45 p.m. – Camp dismissal
